Who We Are

OtherSide Entertainment is an independent game development studio based in Concord MA, with employees located throughout the United States. We are focused on providing players with innovative gameplay, immersive worlds, and engaging narrative. Our specialty is what we call “player-powered” experience in the tradition of System Shock, Thief, and Deus Ex – games developed by the company’s founders, Paul Neurath and Warren Spector. Our team has made games that have collectively garnered over 200 industry awards and earned over $5B in revenues.

The Opportunity

You will play a key role on the OtherSide team as we push the state-of-the-art for immersive, player-powered games as we have before.  You will work with some of the industry’s top developers on an innovative project in the immersive sim tradition. We’ve created a unique culture in a smaller team environment that champions tight collaboration and both encourages and allows individuals to make the kind of impact that is simply impossible when they’re cogs in a giant machine.

What We Need

We are looking for a Lead Producer to join a team in pre-production on an original new game. You will be part of a leads group that turns our cool idea into a real game, one that can be developed by a great team you will help to build. We are looking for a key leader who can help us to maintain healthy production practices while swinging for the fences in terms of quality.  As the Lead Producer, you are a vital component of the team, responsible for driving success while safeguarding their health and creativity.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Art, Design, and Tech leads to schedule, plan, and resource the project.
  • Work closely with studio leadership to maintain alignment, budgets, staffing plans, and milestone definitions.
  • Support all members of the team with efficient and low-overhead production practices that empower and enable people to do their best work.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks at the team, product, and production levels.
  • Communicate constantly with the team, with partners, and across the studio about the state of the game, the team, and their progress.
  • Build and maintain clear roadmaps for the team that identify the steps to success.
  • Manage relationships with outsourcing and co-dev partners, including identifying and contracting new resources.
  • Champion the project and the team both internally and externally.
Required
  • At least 5 years’ prior experience as a game producer, with experience working on PC / Console 3D core games that are, at least, loosely similar to the genre of games OtherSide makes.
  • Have been in a senior or lead producer role, from early development through ship, on at least one PC / Console game that earned very good reviews, was a commercial hit, and delivered on or reasonably close to budget and schedule.
  • Effective at communicating with audiences from junior team members to publisher CEO’s, with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Superb people skills, with proven ability to work collaboratively, while at the same time effectively managing the production, budget and schedule needs of a project.
  • Fully comfortable providing production management across the different development disciplines, including software engineers and the technical challenges of cutting-edge games.
  • Recent experience working with the Unreal Engine a plus.
  • Eager to master new tools and techniques.  We foster a learning environment.
  • Deep passion for making and playing games, including games comparable to those made by OtherSide.
Preferred
  • Experience sourcing and managing outsourcers.
  • Positive demeanor, strong work ethic, sense of humor.
Additional

This is a full-time role, with competitive compensation and a full suite of benefits. The team is distributed/remote, and we can only support people anywhere in the US.

We are committed to having a diverse workforce. We strive for a fair and collaborative culture where we treat everyone equally, with respect and dignity without exception. No applicant will be turned away due to differences of race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, disability status, size, or appearance.
